SHE is the "Book Worm" in our family and you will ALWAYS find her with her nose in a BOOK....:) While spending quality time at Camp Gran's last week, this is what we made.
Using my new embroidery machine that I'm still not very familiar with we stitched her name to add a personal touch. However, it does HELP when you stitch on the FABRIC side instead of on the stabilizer....LOL......First Lesson Learned.....!!!! SHE also wanted a special quote added to the design somewhere. So....I created it on the computer and printed it on heat transfer paper and pressed it on the fabric. We made a POCKET that is sewed on and tucks just inside the front cover.....This is a perfect place to hold glasses or a pen. After the pocket was stitched on, we added her name and of course a little Bling to "girly" it up a bit....:) I forgot to take a picture of the inside front when opened up to show you the finished pocket, but it turned our PERFECT.... A new edition of the BOOK came out in the next few days and SHE was at the book store at MIDNIGHT.....WAITING in line for HER COPY......The new one is now tucked neatly inside her Designer Book Cover.....and SHE sits quietly.....Reading and Smiling....:) Hugs to all,
And this is HOW we did it. Since we had no pattern to guide us, we grabbed the measuring tape and HER book and got started. SHE chose this Modish Fun Fabric and then we just created as we went.
OK...This is better....:) NOW....We measured all around the book for the height and width that would be needed being sure to allow for seams, etc.
We added a few charms to the side for a finishing touch and SHE was OFF to gaze at our New Creation....:)
Until next time,
Spend quality time with someone you love, Make every moment count.....:)

May I please come to your camp, too? I was definitely a bookworm. Maybe that will qualify my acceptance to camp.
Love that book cover.

Camp Gran..where does 1 sign up? LOL! I love this idea so pretty. I am reading the same series thanks to my very good friend and co-worker Vicki! Argh...when I started I would have needed a cover to hide the title! LOL! Seems ike lots of adults are reading them also..Still this is perfect and the quote is awesome. Hugs Grace

You are so clever. I have many books that need a little bling. I think I want to go to Camp Gran myself. The book cover looks beautiful.
